When a bay is actually a bae

Sometimes you just load yourself into the car and see where you end up, and sometimes it’s nearly 200 km from home! Enter Big Bay, or should I say Big Bae because I’m in love with it.

The stone skipping capital of the world

You’ll find Big Bay a little north of Owen Sound, right in the middle of cottage country and driving through the area really really made me want to get a cottage or even retire there. Georgian Bay is magical in its serenity; the waters are so clear and calm, even just the thought of it makes me feel relaxed.

So, why is it called the stone skipping capital of the word? Because the shore is COVERED in smooth, flat rocks that are begging to be picked up! I’m not great at rock skipping but if a sign says it, I have to do it, duh!

We arrived pretty late as we were taking our time seeing what else was on the way so we couldn’t stay for too long, but Big Bay is definitely a place I’ll remember and come back to.
