At Christmastime

Merry belated Christmas to everyone who celebrated this past weekend, and if not, I hope you were able to relax and have some fun anyway!

We were absolutely bombarded with snow on Christmas Eve! While it did give the occasion a little je ne sais quois, it was definitely more difficult to get around!

In my previous post I mentioned that I’m an only child, but I grew up with my dad’s side of the family, and we’re not a small group by any means. When we were all little, we used to see each other almost every week, but as always, life happens and everyone eventually got older and busier as the years passed by… And this is probably the main reason why the holidays are so important to me.

We all get together about four times during the Christmas season to talk over each other, drink, eat, and laugh, and it’s honestly one of my favourite things ever. Andrew and I were in Ottawa for Thanksgiving and it bummed me out knowing I wouldn’t get to hang out with my family, so I was extra excited about this Christmas. (Again, don’t tell them or I’ll never hear the end of it!).

Most of my family on my dad’s side!

I know the holidays are hard for many people so I count myself incredibly blessed by all the gods to have a family that tolerates my antics and, dare I say, that I love spending time with.

Here’s what my Christmas looked like!

Where did you celebrate your holidays?
