Hi everyone! I hope your 2018 is going well so far. I thought I would come back and talk a little bit more about what my plans are for the year. As I mentioned in my last post, I was incredibly lucky to have traveled so much last year, and had so much content to share because of it… In fact, I still have quite a bit that I need to post, but that’s not really what this particular post is about.
The main thing I wanted to say in this post is that things are changing. As of right now, I don’t have any huge travel plans and weirdly enough, I’m alright with it. As much as I love exploring and constantly being on the move, I never really had a chance to sit down and check in with myself. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it in one post or another, but you see, seeing new places and experiencing new things gives me such a high that coming/being home afterwards usually left me feeling SO low. I don’t know why this is or why it was so hard on me, but that’s just how it was.
I beat myself up a ton for not being able to bounce back as quickly as possible, but things will be different this year, and in order for it to be so, I need to make some changes. First of all, I’ll be doing a lot of what I want instead of what I think others want. There are a bunch of things I want to touch on on this blog that I would have refrained from last year such as fitness, faith, and just more personal things, as well as share the things I’ve been up to.
Speaking of which, I’ve been up to quite a bit. First of all, this space has a new look – at first I just wanted to change the font to make it more readable, as well as make the whole thing less “stiff” feeling, and I realized the only way I would be happy is with an entire redesign. I think the contrast, layout, and font all work together quite nicely, and I hope you feel the same too!
I tried my hardest to keep up with a posting schedule here and on my YouTube channel, and though I did a pretty good job with it, it just doesn’t seem sustainable with how my year is looking… Though with everything, this might change with time too. This year I won’t be too rigid and strict with my schedule, and hopefully that will help alleviate some pressure and help me make better content.
Lastly, I wanted to spend most of my time focusing on my new venture, Hello, MadLove a graphic and website design “studio” run by me! I’ve ALWAYS loved design and doodling and creating things but for the life of me, could never translate what I had in my head onto paper… Enter the computer and tablet. I’ve fallen so deeply in love with the process, and I’ve been rewarded with a couple of opportunities that I’m going to immerse myself fully in. I’ll be sharing more about this journey in the future so stay tuned!
And lastly, here are some actionable resolutions that I have for this year:
- DRINK MORE WATER (I feel like this is everyone’s resolution, and for good reason!)
- Be more responsible with my time and money
- Acknowledge when I’ve had too much “Internet” time, and log off
- Learn to be more patient with myself and others
- Speak up for the things I believe in
- Do things that will inspire me, instead of staying upset at myself because I can’t find the “spark”
That’s it for me today! I would love to know if you have any plans for this year – let’s talk in the comments below!
