The first time I realized that I loved mountains was in 2014 when we drove from Las Vegas to California through the Mojave Desert. Some might say that the continuous, seemingly never ending landscapes are boring, but I felt the opposite; the shapes of each mountain were different, the way the landforms in the foreground and the background made a beautiful layered effect, and the general vastness of the desert was so intriguing. The contrast between the green of the yuccas and other flora, and the oranges and browns of the mountains is a visual I can never forget.
